President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday called on Congress to play its part and act firmly against corruption cases witnessed inside the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) and the justice system in general.
"I urge Congress to play its part and act in a firm manner against this issue. To lawmakers, it is time to
act firmly against this situation. The population demands it," the statesman expressed.
In this regard, the Peruvian leader underlined this gathering is urgent as "people can't afford to sit on their hands when it comes to
(fighting) corruption."
Vizcarra went on to stress his administration is making every effort to make the necessary changes in the CNM.
"The most important thing is to rebuild confidence in institutions, and that is why I am decisively leading the process to shape a prosperous, fair, and sovereign Peru, in which citizens can trust the
justice system," he highlighted.
