Peru President: Some people try to divert attention from early general elections bill

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra has warned that some people try to divert the attention from the early general elections proposal —submitted by the Executive Branch to Congress— with false accusations and speculations regarding his administration.

However, the Head of State stressed the population demands early general elections and the dissolution of Congress in order to leave the political entrapment behind.

In this sense, he indicated this public outcry is present across the entire Inca country.

Concerning the Chinchero Airport to be built in Cusco region, the top official affirmed the only interest is to benefit the nation, as this is an important region and tourist destination.

Likewise, the statesman rejected the speculations surrounding Prime Minister Salvador del Solar's excused absence for a couple of days.

As is known, the Prime Minister has been granted a temporary leave of absence to spend some time with his daughter who does not reside in Peru.

"On Sunday, he will be reincorporated," he added.

Furthermore, President Vizcarra pointed out the information —which mentioned possible changes within the PCM— was just speculation.
