Peruvian Prime Minister Salvador del Solar on Thursday affirmed that entrusting the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) to Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio had been previously discussed with President Martin Vizcarra.

In this sense, the cabinet chief indicated he had talked with the Head of State to take a leave of absence —on August 29-September 1— in order to spend some days with his daughter who does not reside in Peru.

For that reason, he requested citizens not to speculate about the matter.

Likewise, he pointed out the information claiming possible replacements within the PCM was just speculation.

Furthermore, he asked the citizens to focus on the country's major issues.

Remarks were made during his visit to the Lima 2019 Parapan American Village.
