President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday affirmed the
will strengthen democracy for everyone's benefit, adding Congress is in charge of this initiative submitted by the Executive Branch.
According to the Head of State, one of the
objectives of the political reform by the 2021 elections is for the situation to be clearer and institutions to work more efficiently in the Inca country.
"We want that, in the new Congress, lawmakers use parliamentary immunity in a different way," he expressed.
Likewise, the Vizcarra administration wants parties' primary voters to decide which politicians are the most suitable candidates to represent them in the general elections.
In this sense, the reform texts submitted by the Executive Branch to Parliament were based on the bills elaborated by the High-Level Political Reform Commission led by Fernando Tuesta.
Furthermore, the statesman noted the significance of the
justice reform, which will enable citizens to rely on transparent, fair, honest, and quick judicial processes.
"That is why we have presented a
reform," the top official added.
