on Wednesday participated in the presentation of the viable Dos de Mayo Hospital project, as the medical center undergoes a modernization process to improve patient care.
The Head of State was accompanied by Cabinet Chief Luis Arroyo and Health Minister Juan Carlos Velasco at the event.
During his speech, the top official highlighted that his government is focused on issuing important policies for the country in two key areas: education and health.
In this regard, he recalled that the COVID-19 pandemic exposed a shortage of doctors and nurses. However, the situation is being reversed through the creation of new universities with medical schools, where new healthcare professionals are being trained.
The President highlighted emblematic hospitals such as Dos de Mayo Hospital as well.
The Head of State said the corresponding investments will be made so the facility can have modern healthcare infrastructure equipped with cutting-edge technology for the benefit of all Peruvians.
"We must demand high-quality education, and when we have quality doctors and nurses, healthcare for the people will improve every day," Balcazar said.
The top official expressed his satisfaction at having a hospital with such a long tradition now set to receive a major investment.
He also highlighted the efforts being made by the Council of Ministers to advance these types of projects and enable the construction of hospitals in all Peruvian regions.
