Peru: President oversees vaccination of elderly at nursing home

The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Tuesday visited Canevaro nursing home to supervise the vaccination of older adults against COVID-19 in that facility.

The Head of State toured various areas of the rest home, where the appropriate logistics were placed to carry out the inoculations with Pfizer vaccines.

In Peru, there are 4 million people aged above 60, of whom 1.7 million are affiliated to the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud), whose immunization started last Monday.

Earlier today, the top official also visited "El Potao" Cavalry Club facilities in Lima's Rimac district, where police personnel are being vaccinated.

As is known, the immunization of the elderly began yesterday simultaneously with that of frontline personnel belonging to the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru.
