President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday held a meeting with Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES) members to discuss the reconstruction process in northern Peru.
As is known, the Inca nation was at the mercy of this climate phenomenon last year. The event was characterized by heavy rains, landslides, and floods, which left
thousands of citizens homeless.
At the meeting, CIES representatives provided a series of recommendations on the matter. They also presented a document titled "Reconstruction of the North 2018-2021."
The meeting was held at Lima-based Government Palace.
Ministers Javier Pique (Housing, Construction, and Sanitation), Silvia Pessah (Health),
Carlos Oliva (Economy and Finance), and Edmer Trujillo (Transport) also attended this gathering.
