Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday affirmed the comprehensive solution to potable water supply across the country constitutes a priority for his Government.
"The key is
water and drainage; this is the most important thing. We can replace or wait for any other (basic) need, but water is key to all human activities. Therefore, it's a priority in Sullana and at the national level," he pointed out.
Speaking from the northern city of Sullana, the Head of State recalled that the area has a S/100 million (about US$30.1 million) project to meet such need, and its implementation will occur after the respective technical file is completed.
The President emphasized the importance of said project as it will also benefit inhabitants of Talara and Paita.
"The top priority will be water and drainage in Sullana. Projects will undergo a substantial change before my first year in office comes to a close, and
we'll make sure they are completed," he added.
Peru's top official on Tuesday delivered an expansion and improvement work for potable
water and sewage services in western Sullana.
The initiative entails an investment of around S/55 million (about US$16.5 million) and is set to benefit over 16,000 citizens.
