on Friday morning arrived in Piura region to deliver 9,360 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for the immunization of older adults in this northern Peruvian jurisdiction.
In April, Piura will receive a total of 21,060 Pfizer doses for adults aged over 80 —of which 9,360 arrived today— followed by 11,200 next week.
The top official confirmed that both
AstraZeneca and Pfizer doses are safe and help prevent hospitalization, as well as deaths from the disease.
In addition, the statesman mentioned that all efforts are being made —by the Government, civil society, and private sector— to obtain oxygen plants and alleviate the situation faced by many regions.
With a view to the runoff (on June 6), it is important to make sure that people will not participate in massive events which endanger their lives, he commented.
