Peru PM urges citizens to face country's challenges together

10:30 | Lima, Jul. 28.

Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva on Saturday asked all Peruvians to join efforts with the purpose of facing the nation's challenges on the occasion of the Inca country's Independence Day.

"We are aware of the major challenges the nation faces. Let's make the decision to address them together in the face of the (country's Independence) Bicentennial," the Cabinet chief noted.

According to the official, this unity must be focused on building a better country for the future generations.

As is known, Peru celebrates its 197th independence anniversary today.

Within this framework, President Martin Vizcarra will address the nation from Congress headquarters.

It must be noted the Head of State's speech will contain the main measures implemented by his administration during its first four months in office.

It will also feature the main announcements for the coming year exercising power. The fight against corruption stands out in this sense.
