Peru PM: Peru moves towards decentralization

11:39 | Lima, Jul. 3.

Prime Minister Salvador del Solar inaugurated the 2nd International Territorial Agendas Seminar in Lima.

In this sense, the event gathered —through reflection and dialogue— diverse points of view, processes, and experiences on effective decentralization for territorial development

"This international seminar is a meeting among public policies, academic reflection, and experience of other countries. This takes place within the framework, in which Peru moves towards decentralization, which must have a territorial articulation vision for development," the high-ranking official expressed.

Likewise, the cabinet chief recalled this decentralizing effort represents 10% of the country's republican life.

"Our nation is an experience of efforts towards a necessary and significant decentralization. Let's remain on track to offer our citizens a well-articulated State," he added.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister was joined by Economy and Finance Minister Carlos Oliva, the National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR) head, national experts, as well as foreigners related to territorial development.
