Peru President requests governors to assess decentralization process

President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday stressed it is time to assess the decentralization process in order to improve it from a territorial perspective.

In this sense, the Head of State affirmed regional governors are the leaders of territorial development. Plus, mayors and private businesses must take advantage of coordination spaces to create a common agenda aimed at boosting local progress. 

Likewise, the top official indicated the fight to stop violence against women is a priority for the national Government, which must be shared by regional and local ones

Within this framework, the statesman underlined the importance to end this scourge, since there is a high rate of femicides in the Inca country.

Remarks were made during 10th GORE-Executive meeting.

As is known, these events are aimed to spur actions that will encourage further development in the nation.
