Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos on Wednesday affirmed that President Martin Vizcarra's administration is committed to guaranteeing total impartiality in the parliamentary elections scheduled for January 26, 2020.

For that reason, the high-ranking official indicated that the Executive Branch will provide the necessary funds to carry out the electoral process, underlining it will not participate in any act promoted by the political parties participating in the coming elections

"We promise that no institution of the (Peruvian) State will be used in order to favor or harm any of the participants in this election," he expressed.

Likewise, the cabinet chief pointed out there is a task to build a country without corruption, with safety on the streets, access to high-quality education, and health, as well as good highways.

"We can indeed achieve the country we dream of, but it requires our unity and commitment," Zeballos said.

"There are thousands of officials and public employees who work for the country and have never been involved in corruption crimes. There are many honest, decent judges and prosecutors, who administer justice efficiently," he added.

Remarks were made during the presentation of the cabinet's measures by Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos.

Regional governors, mayors, as well as representatives of political parties, business groups, and civil society attended the ceremony at the Government Palace in Lima.
