Peru President: Govt is committed to strengthening citizen security

President Martin Vizcarra on Friday reaffirmed his administration's commitment to strengthening citizen security in Peru, thus securing the national development.

In this sense, the Head of State indicated that a total of 900 patrol cars will be at the disposal of Lima and Callao police members so they can patrol the streets. 

Likewise, the top official pointed out some 400 vehicles have already been delivered and are available to reinforce citizen security efforts. The remaining 500 patrol cars will be handed over between November and December. 

Furthermore, he noted the National Police's logistics equipment will be strengthened with additional resources in diverse regions of the Inca country in order to fight crime

Earlier, the statesman stressed that citizen security is one of his administration's priorities

President Vizcarra also recalled the number of police members will be increased to 12,000 this year

Remarks were made during the presentation of the second batch of 270 patrol cars aimed at reinforcing citizen security in Lima and Callao.
