Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Saturday reported that the organization of commissions for the transfer of power to the next administration had begun the day before, with the purpose of launching this process once the results of the June 6 presidential runoff election are known.

"As the Transition and Emergency Government, and in accordance with a transparency principle, we will also inform about the sessions that will take place between transition commissions (…)," she expressed.

Likewise, the Cabinet chief pointed out that President Francisco Sagasti has a political leadership role, whereas those commissions are led by secretary-generals and deputy ministers from each ministry.

Moreover, the government's spokesperson stated that the objective of these commissions is to meet with the next government's technical teams in order to carry out an organized transition.
