Peru: Lima Airport Partners (LAP) awaits results of accident investigations

10:14 | Lima, Nov. 26.

Lima Airport Partners (LAP), which manages operations of Jorge Chavez International Airport, on Saturday reported that it awaits the results of the investigations to find those responsible for the accident which occurred at the site on November 18.

Via its Twitter account, LAP explained that it continues to await the results of the investigation by the Aviation Accident Investigation Commission (CIAA) of the Transportation and Communications Ministry.

Similarly, LAP warned that videos are circulating on social networks, along with audios about the day of the accident. Unfortunately, they are not complete, it said.

"The audios that have been disseminated, in various media outlets, are incomplete. It is important that, for the purposes of an unbiased investigation, the content of all audios, as well as other elements from the event, be analyzed in their entirety," the company indicated.

LAP added that the investigations are carried out by specialized bodies. Thus, speculating with sensitive and incomplete material only generates confusion.

"It should be noted that the only entity which has the audio recordings is the Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation (Corpac). This information should not be leaked in the middle of an investigation," it indicated.

Lastly, the company reiterated its willingness to collaborate with the authorities in charge so that all investigations are carried out and the facts that led to the terrible accident can be clarified.
