Peru's famed opera tenor Juan Diego Florez received one of the coveted suitcases of the "Message in a Suitcase" tourism campaign run by the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).
"I'm very happy and excited of being part of the most important sporting event ever held in Peru. Nowadays, many Peruvian products such as coffee and Pisco Sour are exported around the world. There are more and more Peruvian restaurants and our gastronomy is the trend. All this makes me feel proud," Florez said while receiving the suitcase.
"We are very grateful for the voluntary commitment assumed by Juan Diego when it comes to promoting the country and raising Peru's name high," PromPeru CEO Luis Torres said.
"We are sure the Peru-themed suitcase will join you in your trips around the world and that millions will be delighted by your voice at the Lima 2019 opening ceremony," he added.
Message in a Suitcase
The tourism campaign was internationally launched in May this year.
"Message in a Suitcase" mainly uses social media to spread information, as the main means of consultation of foreign travelers is —in average— the Internet.
In a video of the
campaign targeting the U.S. market, a "talking bag" surprises diverse groups of tourists at Miami International Airport and invites them to visit the Inca country.
Likewise, the ad has bags as a theme and offers interesting trip tips, as well as attractive content for millennials, couples, and families.
