Peruvian Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez has informed the tourist campaign known as "Message in a Suitcase" will be launched in the United States in the upcoming days.

In this sense, the government official underlined the U.S. market is important for Peru's tourism sector due to the visitors' spending level, and the significant number of days they stay in the South American country.

"This government is giving a high priority to tourism, as it sees that as a clear and strong instrument for the development of the country, especially since 90% of tourist potential is in the (country's inner) regions," he expressed.

Campaign

It should be noted "Message in a Suitcase" mainly uses social media to spread information, as the main means of consultation of foreign travelers is —in average— the internet.

In the video, a "talking bag" surprises diverse groups of tourists at Miami International Airport and invites them to visit the Inca country.

Likewise, the ad has bags as a theme and offers interesting trip tips, as well as attractive content for millennials, couples, and families.

The campaign shows Peru as an ideal country, with a large diversity of destinations such as Machu Picchu, Ica region's dunes, or the rainforest Iquitos City
