Peru: Get to know the 41 provinces at extreme risk due to COVID-19

Based on the analysis of information carried out by the Executive Branch on the evolution of COVID-19 in each Peruvian province, it was determined that eight (8) of them are at high risk, 147 at very high risk, and 41 at extreme risk.

The following are the provinces considered at extreme risk level, according to Interior Minister Jose Elice:

Chachapoyas (Amazonas)
Abancay and Andahuaylas (Apurimac)
Caylloma (Arequipa)
Huaraz, Casma and Huarmey (Ancash)
Huamanga and Huanta (Ayacucho)
Cutervo and Jaen (Cajamarca)
Cusco, Anta, La Convencion, Quispicanchi and Urubamba (Cusco)
Huancavelica (Huancavelica)
Ica, Nasca and Pisco (Ica)
Chanchamayo, Tarma and Yauli (Junin)
Chiclayo (Lambayeque)
Trujillo, Santiago de Chuco and Viru (La Libertad)
Barranca, Huaura, Cañete and Huaral (Lima region)
Tambopata (Madre de Dios)
Piura and Sullana (Piura)
Puno (Puno)
Moyobamba and Rioja (San Martin)
Zarumilla (Tumbes)
Coronel Portillo (Ucayali)
Lima Metropolitan Area (Lima)
Callao (Callao)

Restrictions will be imposed on these provinces again (from April 19 to May 9), which include mandatory social immobility: Mondays to Saturdays from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Curfew will be in force 24 hours every Sunday.

Thus, activities at the following spaces will not be allowed during that period of time:

• Casinos, gyms, cinemas, or theaters.
• Temples or places of worship.
• Clubs or sport associations.
• Beaches.
• Or meetings in open or closed spaces.

Capacity limits
 
Concerning capacity limits, Minister Elice specified that the capacity limit will stand at 20% —in general— at stores, shopping centers, arcades, conglomerates, and department stores.

Meanwhile, it will be 40% at supply stores for basic products, supermarkets, markets, warehouses, and pharmacies.

Likewise, the limit stands at 30% in restaurants. However, delivery services will be allowed from 04:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Mondays to Sundays.

Furthermore, banks and other financial entities will be allowed to operate at a capacity limit of 40%.

For their part, the capacity limit at libraries, museums, archaeological monuments, cultural centers, galleries, botanical gardens, and zoos will be 30%.

Moreover, hair salons, spas, and barber shops will rely on a capacity limit of 40%.

In addition, the limit for performing arts in open spaces is 20%. Besides, massive events, carnivals, and traditional festivals are prohibited.

The delivery of products from pharmacies and drugstores will be available 24 hours.

Interprovincial land transportation is allowed with a capacity of 50% to 100%, in accordance with the provisions for interprovincial land travel during the national emergency.
