For the first time, Peruvian Cusco region producers directly exported three tons of Chuncho
to Italy, the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) has informed.
At the beginning of 2018, Knam discovered the aroma and quality of this type of
cacao during a trade mission to
Cusco, organized by Ocex Milan and supported by PromPeru. Thus, he was able to visit
cacao crops and chocolate factories in Quellouno district.
The sale was made through the Paytiti enterprise belonging to the Tupayachi family. In the upcoming weeks, this product will arrive at Genoa Port and then be transported to
Knam's famous bakery headquartered in Milan.
Promotion of Peruvian cacao
"Chef Knam has been working for a long time with
Peruvian cacao, and thanks to this trade mission, he had access to a (cacao) type that is very special and suits his taste, such as Señorita cacao," Ocex Milan Trade Advisor Amora Carbajal expressed.
It should be noted OCEX Milan promotes the
Inca country's cacao in order to boost the sustainable development of local and Amazon producers.
Likewise, it seeks to introduce diverse varieties of this product to an exclusive audience.
