Coronavirus infections in Peru continue to decline for 13 consecutive weeks, while related deaths remain on the downward trend for the 10th week, Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez assured reporters on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the high-ranking official saluted the fact that it is the first time Peru does not have a single province at
an extreme alert level due to the pandemic.

"It depends on everyone," she emphasized.

Likewise, the government's spokeswoman mentioned that the goal of relying on 300 oxygen plants was reached, following the 63 —which existed when President Francisco Sagasti took office— as a result of the joint efforts undertaken by the civil society, private sector, as well as regional and local governments.

Remarks were made during a press conference held at the Government Palace in Lima.
