Peru's national soccer team head coach Ricardo Gareca on Wednesday said
the Incas' performance at Copa America Brasil 2019 has left him with the feeling that they are on the right track.
Feeling more relaxed about the Peruvian squad's performance at the Copa America, which saw them finish as runners-up and
reach a final after 44 years, Gareca asserted the national team is improving and on the right track.
"We would have liked to win the final, but
it did not happen. I leave with the sensation that we are growing. I think we are on the right track and keep correcting mistakes," the coach said.
"We should not let ourselves be confused by our performance at
Copa America, but as this (avoidance of confusion) occurs, I think we will be prepared to continue improving," he underscored.
Gareca revealed the red-white team undergoes a maturation process and that all games are important to gain further experience.
"The more matches we play, the more experience we get, because everything counts. That is the idea," the Argentine said.
