Peru loses 5-0 against Brazil

17:15 | Sao Paulo (Brazil), Jun. 22.

Peru's national soccer team on Saturday afternoon lost 5-0 against Brazil on its third match at the Copa America Brasil 2019, thus fading Peruvians' hope to qualify for the tournament's quarter-finals.

The Incas showed a good performance at the beginning, but the game turned in favor of the locals.

Casemiro gave Brazilians the lead in the 11th minute.

Roberto Firmiño doubled their advantage after a blunder by Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese, whose pass was blocked by the Brazilian. The ball ricocheted off Firmiño, who picked up the rebound and had no problem to score.

During the first half, Everton added to the lead in the 31st minute.

Dani Alves made it 4-0 at the beginning of the second half. William scored the last goal of the game, which ended in a 5-0 win for Brazil.

As is known, Peru beat Bolivia 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Previously, on Saturday, Gareca's men saw a tie against Venezuela on their first match at this tournament.

The Copa America tournament runs from June 14 to July 7.
