Peruvian onion and cauliflower will have free access to the Brazilian market in the next months as barriers to the entry of some Peruvian goods have been lifted, reported Friday Peruvian minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Martín Pérez.
"In a visit to Brazil held some weeks ago, we agreed to boost trade exchange, Brazilian authorities have determined the appropiate procedures to easy these Peruvian good entry," he said.
After eight years of hard work, these products can finally enter the Brazilian market. Peru expects that in the coming months other products such as kiwicha and quinua have also free access to the Brazilian market.
"We need to keep on building up our bilateral relation and share our exportable offer so that we can add a series of products that have a great potencial,” he said.
Currently, a list of 15 Peruvian products are on queue to enter the Brazilian market.
The minister said that Brazil can take advantage of our the huge productive capacity of our southern region.
Minister Perez was the main speaker at the seminar “Interoceánica: Un nuevo vínculo entre Brasil y Perú” (Interoceanic: A new link between Peru and Brazil).
The event gathers 100 entrepreneurs from both countries, is aprt of the activities being carried out in the framework of the visit of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to Lima.
