Peru-Brazil friendship gains new momentum

Peruvian Defense Minister Rafael Rey hailed the excellent friendship relations between Peru and Brazil, "which allow to forge closer business ties in order to develop new projects for the benefit of both populations."

"The Peru-Brazil relationship grows stronger everyday, this is the third or fourth visit of a business delegation, there is also a series of important Brazilian investments in the country," he said.

Minister Rey noted that these investments show great empathy between local and Brazilians entrepreneurs, adding that this relationship helps to develop various joint projects benefiting both countries.

He also mentioned that the acquisition of Super Tucano aircraft from Brazil could be a topic of conversation between President Alan Garcia and his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The Brazilian leader arrived late Thursday in Lima to pay an official visit to Peru with a delegation of Brazilian businessmen.

Lula da Silva will meet today with his Peruvian counterpart Alan Garcia Perez at 09:30 at the Govenrment Palace in Lima
