Peru Ambassador presents credentials to Spanish King Felipe VI

08:00 | Madrid (Spain), Feb. 7.

Peruvian Ambassador Claudio de la Puente Ribeyro presented credential letters to King Felipe VI of Spain.

Said credentials designate De la Puente as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the hosting country.

The event was attended by Spain's foreign affairs minister, senior officials of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and Royal Household of Spain, as well as Peruvian Embassy and General Consulate officials.

After the ceremony, the Inca country's envoy held a warm and friendly conversation with the monarch.

They also discussed Peru's participation —as guest of honor— in ARCOmadrid 2019 art fair.

The meeting —in the presence of Spain's foreign affairs minister— provided the opportunity to highlight the variety, deepness and the extraordinary moment in political relations between the two countries, as well as their strong economic and trade ties.

For his part, King Felipe VI referred to Spain's cooperation with the South American nation, which has remained strong.

The ceremony was held at the Royal Palace of Madrid.
