Peru President welcomes Spanish King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia to Gov't Palace

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra has received King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain at Lima's Government Palace.

The Spanish monarchs were welcomed with corresponding honors upon arrival at the site.

On this occasion, the Head of State will award King Felipe VI with the Merit of Distinguished Services in the Rank of Special Grand Cross. 

Within this framework, important joint cooperation agreements will be signed. 

Later, the monarchs will meet with Lima Mayor Luis Castañeda.

While in the Inca country, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain will be declared illustrious guests of Lima and handed over the keys to the Peruvian capital.

Likewise, King Felipe VI will hold meetings with Congress Chairman Daniel Salaverry and Judicial Branch Chairman Victor Prado. 

Held on November 12-14, the Spanish royals' visit to Peru will help boost ties uniting the two nations.
