Peru 2026 elections: These are the presidential candidates that applied for registration

The group of candidates reachs the number of 35 people aspiring lead the peruvian nation in the next 5 years

At the close of the candidate registration period, 35 political organizations requested the registration of their presidential tickets with the Lima Centro 1 Special Electoral Board to participate in the general elections of April 12, 2026, according to updated information from the National Elections Board's (JNE) electoral platform.

These are the candidates, who have registered in order to participate in the elections to be held on April 12, 2026:

The deadline to request the registration of candidacies expired at 11:59 p.m. yesterday. However, the National Elections Board (JNE) stated that, in the virtual modality, applications can be submitted until 12:00 p.m. on December 24 through the digital platform. Declara+, provided that the legal representative has logged into the platform with their username and password and initiated the registration no later than 11:59 p.m. yesterday, or that their representative has entered the JEE Lima Centro 1 offices, in person.

The submitted applications undergo verification of compliance with registration requirements, such as resumes, government plans, electoral quotas, and that the candidates are not subject to any impediments to running, among others.
