Lima 2019: Peru's Bardalez wins bronze medal in weightlifting

Peruvian weightlifter Luis Bardalez won the bronze medal in the men's 67 kg competition, giving Peru its sixth medal at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

Luis Bardalez lifted 291 kg (127 snatch, 164 clean & jerk), thus earning third place in the weightlifting event of the Pan American games.

Mexican Jonathan Muñoz claimed gold by lifting 306 kg in total (138-168), and the silver medal went to Guatemalan Edgar Pineda, who lifted 297 kg (132-165).

Thus, Peru secures its sixth medal at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games to add to the gold medals taken by marathon runners Gladys Tejeda and Christhian Pacheco, as well as Diego Elias (in the men's singles squash event), in addition to the silver ones grabbed by Hugo del Castillo and Marcela Castillo in the taekwondo events.
