The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the five members of a Peruvian family previously listed as missing following the earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 have been located.

Via social media, the Ministry said that Peru's Interests Section in Caracas managed to locate the family at their home in the city of La Guaira, which sustained material damage as a result of the natural disaster.

The agency said that, after establishing contact with the family, arrangements are being made to deliver humanitarian aid and food supplies to help meet their needs as they cope with the aftermath of the emergency.

It also indicated that the fellow citizens have not requested repatriation to Peru.

The Ministry added that it remains in close coordination with local authorities to provide assistance and support to Peruvians affected by the earthquakes in Venezuelan territory.

On June 24, two earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 struck Caracas and six other states in northern Venezuela, with La Guaira being the hardest-hit area.
