This was announced by the Chilean president himself on Friday morning during a video call with Fujimori Higuchi, which was attended by Chilean Foreign Affairs Minister Francisco Perez Mackenna as well.
"The president-elect invited President Kast to attend Peru's presidential inauguration ceremony, and the Chilean Head of State confirmed that he will participate in the event," Chile's Presidential Press Office said in a statement published on its website.
During the video call with the president-elect, Kast congratulated Fujimori on her recent election victory.
Likewise, he expressed his best wishes for the success of her upcoming administration.
In addition, the two leaders reaffirmed the commitment of Chile and Peru to continue strengthening their historic friendship, deepening bilateral cooperation, and promoting greater trade and investment for the benefit of their citizens.
They also agreed on the importance of resuming and revitalizing the Pacific Alliance as a key mechanism for promoting economic integration, trade, investment, and a joint outreach to Asia-Pacific markets.
Kast and Fujimori discussed security and exchanged views on the shared migration challenges facing both countries, as well as the need to strengthen coordination in combating transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, and other threats affecting their citizens, according to Chile's Presidency.
Greetings from regional leaders
Following her proclamation as president-elect, Fujimori has held talks with several regional leaders, including Presidents Santiago Peña (Paraguay), Laura Fernandez (Costa Rica), and Nasry Asfura (Honduras).
At the latter meeting, Ambassador Song Yang presented her with a letter from President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China congratulating her on her recent election.
On Thursday, the president-elect received Head of State Jose Maria Balcazar at her office in Lima's San Isidro district.
