The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that Peruvian goods exports increased 34% year-on-year during the first half of 2026, reaching US$54.049 billion, the highest level ever recorded for that period.

The performance demonstrates the consolidation of Peru's exports in international markets, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Rogers Valencia stated.

The growth was driven primarily by mineral exports (metallic and non-metallic), which totaled US$39.875 billion, up 49%, supported by rising international prices and larger export volumes of copper and gold.

Exports from the agricultural sector also stood out (US$5.667 billion; +3.7%), followed by the chemical sector (US$1.040 billion; +8.6%), and the forestry sector (US$35 million; +7.9%).

In the mining sector, copper accounted for the largest share of exports (US$18.563 billion; +42.8%), followed by gold (US$13.972 billion; +59.2%), lead and silver concentrates (US$2.981 billion; +113.3%), and zinc (US$1.438 billion; +15%).

In the agricultural sector, fruit exports stood out, led by blueberries (US$453 million; +48.7%), grapes (US$789 million; +16.9%), and avocados (US$973 million; +11.5%).

Coffee exports also performed strongly (US$325 million; +7.7%), followed by ethanol exports (US$72 million; +91.7%), and quinoa exports (US$78 million; +21%).

In the chemical sector, sulfuric acid exports stood out (US$77 million; +33.1%), followed by plastic products (US$347 million; +9%) and pharmaceuticals (US$44 million; +2.5%).

According to Mincetur, following the record set in 2025 (9,947 exporters), this number continued to grow during the first half of 2026, rising 2.4% to 7,798, of which 65% are micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Main export markets

During the first half of 2026, exports to all of Peru's major trading partners increased, with China, the United States, and the European Union remaining the country's main export markets.

Peru exported US$20.850 billion worth of goods to China (+38.7%).

Meanwhile, goods exports to the United States reached US$5.038 billion (+19.5%), and exports to the EU totaled US$4.819 billion (+12.1%).
