The Venezuelan woman Wanda del Valle Bermúdez, extradited from Colombia, arrived today to Peru to serve the 18 months of imprisonment without bail imposed by the Peruvian Judiciary, while she faces charges for alleged crimes of conspiracy and offering murder-for-hire services.
As seen in images shared by the Peruvian National Police (PNP) on its X account, the woman, also known as "The Baby of Crime," arrived at 12:45 a.m. today, Tuesday, December 31, at Jorge Chávez International Airport. She was escorted by female police officers who guided her through the terminal’s disembarkation area.
Hours earlier, Wanda del Valle had been handed over by agents from Colombia's Criminal Investigation Directorate to Peruvian police at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá for her extradition to Peru.
Del Valle Bermúdez was the girlfriend of a criminal and alleged member of El Tren de Aragua, nicknamed 'Maldito Cris,' who was killed by the PNP in June 2023 after days of pursuit for having murdered a municipal security guard from Surco who tried to stop him.
According to the PNP, Wanda allegedly offered 40,000 dollars to kill Colonel Víctor Revoredo Farfán, who was then the head of the Homicide Investigation Division of Dirincri and actively pursuing ‘Maldito Cris.’
The Public Ministry reported that Wanda will be presented to the Seventh Permanent Preliminary Investigation Court of San Juan de Lurigancho at the request of the First Provincial Corporate Criminal Prosecutor's Office of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima Este.
On January 22, the Council of Ministers approved Wanda del Valle's active extradition days after the Supreme Court deemed it admissible and after she was arrested in a slum in southern Bogotá by Colombian police.
The Venezuelan citizen is accused of collecting extortion money from merchants, selling and distributing firearms, coordinating with hitmen, and participating in the trafficking of Colombian and Venezuelan women who were sexually exploited in several countries in the region.
