U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru from September 8 to 10 to strengthen key partnerships in the region, the State Department announced on Friday.

During the trip, Rubio will meet with the Government of Abelardo de la Espriella in Colombia, President Daniel Noboa in Ecuador, and the Government of President Keiko Fujimori in Peru.

The meetings will address U.S. support for Colombia's earthquake response; enhanced cooperation in the shared fight against narcoterrorism, which threatens the hemisphere; and the benefits of deeper commercial relationships, the State Department said.

During the trip, the Secretary will reaffirm the Trump Administration's commitment to a secure, prosperous, and democratic Western Hemisphere.

In this regard, U.S. Ambassador to Peru Bernie Navarro highlighted Marco Rubio's upcoming visit.

"It is an honor, as ambassador, to welcome him to Peru soon. Expect excellent news for our cooperation," he wrote on X.
