U.S. and Peru sign agreement to boost strategic investment and growth

United States Ambassador Bernie Navarro and Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversion) Executive Director Luis del Carpio signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation and promote U.S. investment in strategic projects in Peru.

The agreement establishes a cooperation framework to attract investment in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, logistics, technology, and critical minerals, according to the U.S. Embassy.

In this regard, it will facilitate the exchange of information, the organization of seminars and business missions, as well as coordination between public and private entities from both countries.

"This agreement, the first of its kind between the U.S. Embassy and Proinversion, establishes a cooperation framework to attract investment in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, logistics, technology, and critical minerals," the diplomatic mission stated.

Ambassador Navarro reiterated that Peru is a key partner for the United States.

He added that the economic relationship between the two nations continues to strengthen, "generating more trade, more jobs, and greater opportunities for both countries."

"The quality, commitment, innovation, and best practices of U.S. companies are the best in the world, and our firms are ready to continue investing and doing business in Peru," Navarro noted.

The agreement was signed within the framework of the bicentennial of diplomatic relations, reinforcing the shared vision of both countries to build a future of growth and opportunities for their citizens.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Luis Arroyo and leaders of the country's main business chambers.
