The leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, dedicated a special message in Quechua to his Peruvian fans, especially those in Machu Picchu, encouraging them to watch "
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts."
However, it was the iconic citadel of Machu Picchu that captivated Optimus Prime, who shared a special message in Quechua implying how delighted he was with the Imperial City.
"Our lives are linked by an unbreakable bond, and I thank everyone in Machu Picchu for making their city our home. Let's celebrate this union bond by watching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," the leader of the Autobots said referring to his appreciation for the Inca citadel.
Besides the emotionally charged words, the gesture was welcomed with plenty of comments
on social media, which captured the excitement of many Peruvians for the premiere of the movie, as well as the pride of some
Quechua-speakers.
This message has generated special enthusiasm since it is surprising how people outside the Peruvian culture appreciate said indigenous language.
Quechua became an official language of Peru in 1975. However, a renewed interest in it has been observed in recent years, particularly among young people, who learn Quechua to know the language of their parents and grandparents, thus strengthening their cultural roots.
It should be noted that Quechua has managed to transcend Peruvian boundaries, gaining international exposure as a valuable expression of linguistic diversity and cultural heritage.
Its importance and value are undeniable, and its promotion and preservation are key to maintaining the cultural heritage it represents alive.
It should be noted that the film will open in U.S. theatres on June 9.
