During the 2025 Annual Policy Consultation Meeting on Official Development Assistance (ODA) between South Korea and Peru, the Asian country reaffirmed its strategic commitment to its South American counterpart by designating it as a priority country for international cooperation through ODA.

The session brought together representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the South Korean Embassy in Lima, the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation (APCI), and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The meeting aimed to strengthen the efficacy of current initiatives and to chart the path for future cooperation.

Peru has held a priority position on South Korea's cooperation agenda since 2011.

Currently, this partnership is reflected in 36 bilateral non-reimbursable cooperation projects, nine of which began implementation in 2025.

These joint efforts have a direct impact on strategic sectors such as public administration, transportation, the environment, and health.

The Peruvian delegation highlighted the country's dual role: as a recipient of international technical cooperation (ITC) and as a provider of technical assistance to other countries, within the framework of the National Policy on International Technical Cooperation (PNCTI) through 2030.

The event was held at the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lima on December 12.
