QS: PUCP named best university in Peru

It should be noted a total of 3 universities in the Inca country —including PUCP, Universidad de Lima, and Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH)— were represented in this year's ranking.

In this sense, one university improved in the ranking, while none university moved backwards. One remained stable within the individual rank or band.

Furthermore, universities in the Andean nation perform best on International Faculty Ratio, in terms of average rank.

In terms of Employer Reputation, Academic Reputation, International Student Ratio, and Citations Per Faculty, PUCP has the highest marks.

On the other hand, UPCH ranked first in Faculty Student Ratio and International Faculty Ratio.

The rankings —produced by global higher education consultancy QS Quacquarelli Symonds— rank the world's top 1,000 universities.

Global Highlights

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was named the world's best university for a record-breaking eighth consecutive year.

Thus, the top three institutions remain in the U.S.: MIT is followed by Stanford University (2nd), and Harvard University (3rd).
