President of Peru meets with Princess Kako of Japan

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte held a meeting with Princess Kako of Japan, the Presidential Office reported on Tuesday.

The meeting started at 12:10 p.m., according to a statement shared on social media by the Presidency of the Republic


Thus, the Head of State received the member of the Japanese royal family at the Lima-based Government Palace, joined by Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ignacio Higueras and Presidential Office Secretary-General Enrique Vilchez.

The illustrious guest visited the headquarters of the Executive Branch accompanied by a delegation comprising Japanese officials and Japanese Ambassador to Peru Tsuyoshi Yamamoto.

Princess Kako, 28, began her official visit to Peru last week, which brought her to Cusco, where she visited the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

Her presence in the South American nation is due to the celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Peru and Japan.

It should be pointed out that, at present, Japan is the fourth-largest trading partner of Peru.
