The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori Higuchi, announced today that 500 schools will be built in the country next year, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to providing quality education nationwide.
"Next year, 500 new schools will be built, and satellite internet connectivity will be provided to every school in Peru. Our goal is for young people to have many more opportunities," the President stated during the handover of 6,500 laptops for students at the High-Performance Schools (COAR).
The Head of State noted that, in this way, young people will become better citizens and, in turn, will give back to their families, their communities, and the country by applying the knowledge they have gained.
The President highlighted the development of the "brilliant minds" studying at the COAR institutions, emphasizing that successful initiatives—such as these schools—must be sustained. This, she noted, is what is meant by building strong institutions and working for both the present and the future.

She stated that the only way to transform Peruvian society is through education; consequently, a significant portion of her administration’s time and resources is dedicated to improving public policy and the quality of education in Peru.
"This is not an effort by the government alone, but by everyone: our teachers, who prepare their lessons with care and guide their students; our school principals, whose leadership motivates both staff and pupils; and parents, who strive to support their children—but, above all, it depends on you: the young people," she remarked.
"Young people are the most important element, and their continued progress in their education rests with them. Therefore, I urge you to keep studying," she emphasized.
