12:23 | Lima, oct. 27.

The President of the Peruvian Republic, Jose Jeri Ore, announced that this Tuesday, October 28th, he will present the results achieved after a week of declaring a state of emergency in Lima and Callao.

"Tomorrow, we will review everything achieved in these seven days. In addition, we will propose new security measures to the Council of Ministers in order to reinforce the preventive work being carried out in patrolling the streets," stated the Peruvian President.

He told so, after leading a new day of operations on the sixth day of the state of emergency.

The President's tour began in the district of Surco, where he visited the municipality's Monitoring Center with the Minister of the Interior, Vicente Tiburcio Orbezo; the Commander-in-Chief of the Peruvian National Police (PNP), Oscar Arriola Delgado; and Mayor Carlos Bruce Montes de Oca.

He also led an intervention involving approximately 20 people who were found to be in possession of knives.

"The fight against crime must be sustained through cooperation between the Armed Forces, the Peruvian National Police, and the municipalities, with appropriate tools and valuable information that can be obtained through these centers," stated President Jeri.

Later, the president traveled to the district of Comas, where he met with Mayor Ulises Villegas Rojas at the district's Monitoring Center.

From there, he mentioned that one of the measures that could be proposed to improve citizen security would be drone patrols throughout the city.

In addition, the officials visited “Los Halcones” Motorized Emergency Unit and Comas Base to inspect the facility's infrastructure and equipment.

"We want all municipalities to have the capacity to respond to emergency situations that arise. Therefore, we are working collaboratively on various operations in the city, together with the National Police, the Armed Forces, and the Serenazgo (Municipality' security forces). We have declared war on crime, and we will continue until it is eradicated," he emphasized.

The president concluded his workday in the early morning hours in San Juan de Lurigancho, where he led an identity check operation in Canto Grande, which resulted in the arrest of more than 80 people.

There, he also took the time to listen to the district's youth, to whom he reaffirmed his commitment to continue working with local and regional governments for the safety and peace of all Peruvians.
