President Fujimori: We will restore order and security for Peruvians

The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, highlighted on Thursday the creation of the Unified Command for the Fight Against Crime, which will comprise the National Police and the Armed Forces.

On her X account, the Head of State emphasized that the command will direct and carry out operations against organized crime with the full legitimate force of the Peruvian State.

"We will restore order and security for Peruvians!" the top official pointed out.

The Unified Command comprises 1,350 members of the Armed Forces and the National Police.

Of this total, 500 are members of the Army, 250 of the Air Force, 200 of the Navy, 80 of the Joint Special Forces, and 320 are police officers from specialized units.

The police force deployed includes units such as the Special Operations Directorate (Diropesp), the Tactical Actions Sub-unit (SUAT), the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri), the Special Group Against Organized Crime (Grecco), the Sensitive Special Team Against Transnational Organized Crime (Eesccot), the Environmental Directorate, and the Criminalistics Directorate.

Likewise, the capabilities deployed include military and tactical vehicles, drones, armored vehicles, vans, K-9 units, and other specialized resources to reinforce operations at priority locations.

The police component has been equipped with six drones, two armored vehicles, two vans, and 10 K-9 units, in addition to the corresponding operational equipment.
