The president of the Republic Dina Boluarte Zegarra announced this afternoon that the city of Lima will host the final of the 2025 Copa Libertadores, the most important South America soccer clubs tournament, scheduled for November 29 of this year.

During a ceremony at the Government Palace, president Boluarte highlighted that this designation confirms Peru as one of the continent’s most attractive destinations for sports events.

“We are here with Mr. Alejandro Domínguez, president of Conmebol (South American Football Confederation) to make an important announcement to Peru and the world: Lima will host the final of the 2025 Conmebol Copa Libertadores. The event will take place on November 29 of this year,” she said.

The head of state emphasized that the Peruvian government is committed to providing all necessary guarantees to ensure the success of this soccer continental event, as it is also doing with the 2025 Bolivarian Games.

“We thank Conmebol for trusting us and accepting our country's bid to host the most important soccer event in the Americas,” she highlighted.

President Boluarte also invited all Peruvians to celebrate this achievement with pride, responsibility, and enthusiasm, and once again, to demonstrate that Peru is ready to meet major challenges.

“We look forward to welcoming you in Lima on November 29. Everyone is welcome and are at home as always. We will receive you with the warmth and affection Peruvians are known for. Welcome, Conmebol; welcome, Copa Libertadores,” she concluded.
