PetroTal reported an average production of 19,473 barrels of oil per day (bopd) in 2025, a result that reaffirms its leadership in Peru's hydrocarbon industry.

With a total output of 7.1 million barrels, the company achieved 9.2% growth compared with the previous year, consolidating its position as the country's leading crude oil producer.

Average production stood at 15,258 bopd in the fourth quarter of 2025.

This result was driven mainly by the performance of the Bretaña Field (Block 95) in Loreto region, which recorded an average of 14,766 bopd.

It was also supported by a contribution of 492 bopd from the Los Angeles Field (Block 131) in Huanuco and Ucayali regions, operated by Ucawa Energy with technical backing from PetroTal.

"We are working hard to restore our optimal production levels and strengthen cash flow, even in an environment of challenging international prices," PetroTal CEO Manolo Zuñiga said.

The executive noted that, following the technical issues in the pipelines of certain wells identified last August, the solutions implemented have been successful.

During the first week of January, PetroTal's production reached approximately 15,600 bopd, slightly above the preliminary projection for 2026, which had been estimated in a range between 12,000 and 15,000 bopd.

Historic milestone at Block 95

In mid-December, the Bretaña Field reached an unprecedented operational milestone by surpassing 30 million barrels of cumulative production in just eight years of operations, consolidating its position as one of the leading assets in Peru's oil industry.

"We have full confidence in the asset's potential and are already preparing to execute the next phase of development planned for the 2026–2028 period," Zuñiga noted.

Strengthening executive leadership

Coinciding with the start of the year, PetroTal announced the appointment of engineer Jorge Osorio as the company's new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and general manager.

Osorio, who has 37 years of senior-level experience at global companies such as BP and Ecopetrol, will lead the company's operations, engineering, drilling, and corporate affairs areas.

His track record stands out for leading organizational transformations and achieving record performance in health, safety, and environment (HSE).

Social impact and efficiency in public spending

PetroTal's activity remains a driver of development in the Amazon region.

In 2025, transfers from the oil canon and overcanon to Puinahua district totaled S/27.1 million (US$8.04 million).

Over the past two years, the district has received nearly S/50 million (about US$14.85 million) thanks to Block 95 operations.

It also highlighted the performance of the Puinahua District Municipality, which achieved budget execution close to 100% of canon resources in 2025.

This performance, which places the municipality among the most efficient in the country, enabled progress on critical projects such as the modernization of schools, the improvement of Bretaña's Main Square, and the construction of pedestrian infrastructure in various communities.

"The capacity-building program for public officials that we promoted has been instrumental in achieving this historic level of efficiency in public spending execution, surpassing the averages of other producing districts in the country," the PetroTal CEO concluded.
