Peruvian citizen Feker El Alabi, who was evacuated from the Gaza Strip along with her family, arrived in Lima, Peru.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the arrival of the woman, her husband, and their three minor children took place last night.

Representatives of the above-mentioned government agency welcomed them upon their arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport.

Likewise, this Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to assisting and providing protection to Peruvian nationals living abroad.

Evacuation and negotiation

The Peruvian woman and her family were evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Egypt, after various efforts made by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Initially, Feker El Alabi's husband, a Palestinian national, was not initially included in the evacuation plan, only her and her three minor children.

Finally, thanks to the arrangement made by Peru with authorities on Gaza Strip's border, her spouse was allowed to be included in the evacuation plan.

It should be pointed out that the International Organization for Migration (IOM) paid for the entire family's flight tickets to Peru.

Feker El Alabi had emigrated from the Peruvian city of Chimbote (Ancash region) to Palestine when she was eight years old.
