Peruvian startups bring innovative ideas to SXSW festival in U.S.

Seven Peruvian ventures will showcase their innovative initiatives in the United States, seeking financing while at South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, Texas.

The Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) on Monday opened the Peru Country Brand stand at the SXSW trade show so as to promote products and services offered by said startups.

"One of Austin's advantages is the number of investment funds for innovation and startups. It is a very good opportunity for participating companies," Country Brand Deputy Director Mariella Soldi told Andina news agency.

Arrivedo

Arrivedo offers hotels globally an online platform to organize their knowledge via Neighborhood Guides. A Neighborhood Guide is a group of articles consisting of recommendations, maps, routes, essential tips and more relevant information that hosts can share with travelers.

Chazki

This startup offers same-day parcel and express delivery services. Chazki provides a web and mobile platform dedicated to improving urban logistics and parcel delivery experience for e-commerce, businesses, and citizens.

Drop Technologies

The company manufactures smart patches that regulate and track skin problems such as sweating.

SpaceDAT

The solution to monitor and predict blueberry and avocado harvest volume with data captured from the air, using drones with thermal imaging infrared cameras from the ground. It also uses cameras mounted on tractors and empowered with artificial intelligence software.

Innova Factoring

A fintech startup seeking to finance 10% of the top 10,000 MSME suppliers in Peru before 2020. This year's aim is to improve processes with technology support by implementing biometric security and blockchain technologies for "smart contracts" of non-resource factoring operations.

ANDA

A smart watch for children between 3 and 9 years of age, created to enable emotional communication between family members with a symbol-based language.

KORU

A digital tool that helps manage early recovery after a disaster. KORU censuses shelters, monitors [healthcare] needs in real time and organizes aid distribution. The collective platform empowers both victims and volunteers, thus proving more efficient during critical situations.
