The President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, was cordially greeted by the King and Queen of Spain, Felipe VI and Letizia, upon her arrival at St. Peter's Square, where on Sunday the solemn Mass marking the official start of Pope Leo XIV's Pontificate was held.

The protocol greeting took place as part of the arrival of authorities from various countries at the Vatican, who attended the liturgical ceremony led by the new Supreme Pontiff.

This event reaffirmed the diplomatic and cooperative ties between the participating nations.

President Boluarte took part in the Solemn Mass marking the Beginning of the Pontificate of His Holiness Leo XIV, held at St. Peter's Square in Vatican City.

The Peruvian Head of State sat in the front row to attend the Mass, alongside U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.
