Peru's volleyball teams rewarded with US$ 39,000

The Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), led by Arturo Woodman, honored on Thursday the Peruvian volleyball team and U-18 girls team with 117,000 soles (39,000 dollars) for their efforts and for giving satisfaction to Peruvian population.

The event was chaired by Arturo Woodman at the leveled area of the National Stadium.

“We join President Garcia and the Congress and we award them a special prize, a bonus and the gratitude for all their efforts, and we will continue to support them in order to improve volleyball level every year,” he said.

He pointed out that the girls heightened the name of Peru. “Sports are improving in Peru and we hope that Peruvian Congress can continue supporting with more money in order to provide them better facilities.”
 
Peru’s volleyball team, composed by 15 members, received 75,000 soles. While U-18 girl team, also composed by 15 members, received 42,000 soles.

The Peruvian team is composed by Julissa Zamudio, Milagros Moy, Leyla Chihuan, Carla Rueda, Zoila La Rosa, Elena Keldibekova, Angelica Grun, Mirtha Uribe, Paola Garcia, Patricia Soto, Vanessa Palacios, Yessenia Uceda y Carla Ortiz.

While Peru's U-18 girl volleyball team, which obtained sixth place in the 2009 FIVB Girls Youth Volleyball World Championship held in Thailand, is composed by Vivian Baella, Maria Acosta, Rafaela Camet, Lisset Sosa, Clarivett Illescas, Daniela Uribe, Diana Gonzales, Vanesa Clausen, Grecia Herrada, Carmen Navarrete, Gina Lopez y Alexandra Muñoz.
