Peru's soccer team holds last training session ahead of playoff match against Australia

18:52 | Doha (Qatar), Jun. 12.

The Peruvian national soccer team held its last training session ahead of the June 13 intercontinental playoff game against Australia in search of a place for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Smiles, hugs, and a spirit of partnership were the common factors following the training session at Sadd Stadium, a multi-purpose stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Thus, the 28 Peruvian players completed their training to face Australia in the quest to qualify for the most prestigious event on the soccer calendar around the world.

It should be noted that Yoshimar Yotun was the only player who got injured during the training. He was unable to participate in the entire session due to a muscular discomfort and may not be called up to play in the game.

The Peruvian midfielder was unable to participate for the third day in a row and this time he was unable to do the warm-up routines.

Everything suggests that Christofer Gonzales will be the main candidate to take his place.

Last March, Peru earned the right to play the intercontinental playoff in search of a place for the Qatar 2022 World Cup by defeating Paraguay 2-0 in Lima.

For its part, Australia beat the United Arab Emirates 2-1 in Doha on June 7.
