Peru's national soccer team defeated its Paraguayan counterpart 2-0 in a 2022 World Cup qualifier match on Tuesday at the National Stadium in Lima.
The first goal of the match was scored by Gianluca Lapadula (Peru) assisted by Christian Cueva. It was a shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner.
Lapadula's goal opened the scoring in the fifth minute of this electrifying match.
The second goal of the game, an amazing scissor kick, came minutes later (42'), when the first half was about to end. It was scored by Yoshimar Yotun, after a series of passes.
The Incas have won five out of the seven matches against Paraguay under Gareca's leadership.
Thus, the statistics are enough to demonstrate the recent superiority of the Peruvian squad over the Guarani side.
Paraguay played with five substitutes, four of them due to the number of yellow or red cards and one to replace an injured player.
Meanwhile, Peru played without Andre Carrillo, who was replaced by Edison Flores.
With this win, the Peruvian squad will play the repechage against the winner of the series among the teams of the Asian confederation for a quota at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
